This was one bird that had eluded me before and I was very pleased to see one and even more pleased to photograph it. It is small and very secretive and wary. It was only visible for a few seconds so it was a case of shoot first and enjoy the view afterwards. It was tricky to locate in the floating water hyacinth in the first place. Thanks to Marcos for finding one and getting me in position in the canoe to photograph it.
